I love eating. As long as I can remember, I’ve loved food, especially the spicy, bold, and hearty kind. And as I got older and less invincible, I discovered that I also really enjoyed eating nutritious food, the kind which made me feel good, gave me sustained energy, fueled my workouts and supported my health and fitness goals.
I also love cooking. I think it’s one of the most practical, beneficial, and rewarding skills that one can learn. However, as a vegetarian (lacto-ovo) I couldn’t find many resources out there to help me learn how to cook the kind of robust, satisfying, and healthy plant-based food that I loved. So for years I fumbled around the kitchen, borrowed/stole ideas and modified recipes from various websites, books, and friends, and kinda sorta figured out (WIP) how to do this myself.
I created PepperPowered.com to share the recipes, products, tools, and tips that have helped me get the best of all worlds with regards to my health and gastronomic pursuits. Here are some of the things that I care about:
- Nutrient-dense, plant-based meals. Spice is life, but I gotchu sweet/sour/bitter/salty/umami.
- No BS supplements. Vitamins, minerals, powders, etc that actually work.
- Tools and products that make it more easy, fun, and satisfying to eat and live the way I want to.
